There are still 8 months left for the Pakistan Super League Edition 2 to get commenced, however, the hype and buzz can already be felt in the air since the PCB is making rigorous and sincere efforts for the implementation of PSL 2 without any flaw and glitch.
PCB made a good chunk of profits in the first edition of the PSL but since it was the first big step taken by PCB, there were some minor malfunction too like MCL clashed with PSL but it did not have much impact. For an uninterrupted season, Najam Sethi and some members of the governing body recently paid a visit to UAE to get in touch with the officials.
The idea for a rather early visit was to inform the officials in the UAE about the PSL Edition 2 that is expectedly going to take place in the second week of February next year. The crux was to secure the grounds early in order to avoid any hitch in the future.
Moreover, the PCB is already in constant touch with former New Zealand captain, Brendon McCullum and Australian pacer, Mitchell Johnson for the second edition of PSL. According to some reports, PCB also contacted David Warner and AB de Villiers but due to their international commitments during those days, it would be slightly difficult for them to participate in the mega event.
The prize money will also be increased for the second edition of PSL. All 5 franchises mutually agreed upon the participation of 5 teams in the second edition of PSL as of now. As time goes by, new teams will be added with mutual consent. The first edition was a super success as it broke many records in terms of viewership in Pakistan. It was won by Islamabad United under the leadership of Misbah-ul-Haq and the mentorship of legendary Wasim Akram.
